Delicious. Food was excellent, good wine choices by the glass. Service was great. We stop here on our way to and from Florida at the Walterboro exit on 95.
Amazing authentic food. Very nice staff and a perfect quiet place for a date night. One of my all time favorite places In Walterboro
Sauce was delicious! Close to the best meatballs I’ve ever had! Service was impeccable! We will return! Oh, I forgot, the Cabernet Sauvignon was excellent!
The atmosphere is very romantic and cozy. If you're looking for authentic Italian food then you've come to the right place. This restaurant may be small but it's bursting with flavor! The pasta is exquisite and they give you an herb and olive oil mixture to dip the bread in. Sometimes they have a live pianist and candles are lit. Perfect for a date with your special someone!
Great little Italian restaurant. The food and service were exceptional! The brick walls and cozy tables give it a cozy feeling. The owner and her daughter were delightful. We really enjoyed our visit. We will be back!
Oh my goodness! Dont miss the chance to dine at Carmines. Everything about this restaurant is authentic and delicious. We stopped by on one of our "Adventures" and cant keep ourselves from going back at least once a week. We had the pleasure of talking with the owner & his brother while waiting for opening and feel like we made two new friends. We will be back for more this week.
Absolutely fantastic! If you have the opportunity be sure and dine at Carmies! The food is as good as it gets!
My wife and I are on our way to Disney for vacation. We stopped in Walterboro, SC for the night. We ended up going to this restaurant for dinner and I’m having serious thoughts of stopping in this town again on the way back just to eat here again. My wife had the lasagna, you can tell the noodles were homemade and the portion was huge. I got a filet Marsala steak special, I just can’t! Best steak I ever had, it was melt in your mouth perfect. I’ve had all the chain steaks, Ruth Chris, Texas Roadhouse, and a ton of family owned and operated. This steak beat them all. I called over our waiter and told him to inform the chef, it was the best steak I ever had. He said he would tell his father. We finished it with a lemon cake and cannoli. It all almost brought a tear to my eye. If you live here you already know of this gem hopefully, if you’re driving through eat here!
Had the filet steak with the Marsala sauce, excellent steak dinner. Husband had the chicken salad and was very happy with it. Pass by the same old, same old restaurants off the interstate and Go the couple extra miles to enjoy a great dinner.
The food was awesome (lasagna & chicken marsala) and the customer experience was very exciting to say the least! ✔
Third visit to Carmine's Trattoria, Walterboro, SC in three years. The hospitality, warm character and charm are always as wonderful as their great meals and service. Not just a place to eat, you feel right at home and welcome with the city's administrators, local families and and travelers like us and impressed by the politeness of the servers.Traveling up or down the I95 corridor, Carmine's is 5 minutes away and a great experience .
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, perfect for date night. Food was good but wait time was kinda long due to only 2 servers. I want to come back to try more off the menu, looks good and authentic!
A fun alternative to the chain restaurants by the freeway. Service was friendly and the food was good. Clam linguini had plentiful and delicious steamed clams served in the shell. If you are resting here on an I-95 journey, it is worth the short drive into downtown Walterboro.
One of the best in walterboro a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Great service.
Great place. Great food. Authentic Italian. It's got a great atmosphere. The owner was lovely. Love seeing business under Christian ownership.
We were traveling through South Carolina on our way back to NYC and stopped to have dinner here-We were so pleasantly surprised. The dinner was very, very good. Filet Mignon special with mushrooms and a creamy Marsala sauce, decent wine list and great service! The staff could not have been nicer.Would definitely recommend stopping here if you are looking for a somewhat “upscale” dining experience as opposed to stopping in at a chain restaurant!
service was excellent. The food was absolutely amazing!! This was our first visit. We will definitely be returning.
Im an Italian and have been all over the world as an executive chef. Carmine’s is by far the best Italian food I have ever had. We ate here about 3 weeks ago and we’re still talking about how phenomenal it was! The hospitality is fantastic as well, we need you in St Pete Beach, FL!
Vary nasty experience.Waiting for 10 min till someone come and bring us drinks ,then on other 10 min till bread was served.Waitress very nasty got in verbal arguments with a customer which was waiting 30 min for food. She screamed at them GET OUT OF MY PLACEa few time .She was having bad attitude.Bad for Bussines
Probably the best place to eat in town. Absolutely delicious, much better than olive garden or carrabba's or the like. I never had Veal that tasted so fine. :-)
Fabulous food , attentive service, excellent overall. Would definitely recommend.
Our waitress was sweet however she didn't listen and threw my plate away when I asked for it to go plate. I spoke to the hostess for cheesecake. We asked for two slices to go home with. The next day we found that they were a lemon cake of some sort of which I don't eat. That afternoon I called and spoke with the hostess who was extremely rude and acted like she was of some royalty and continued to talk while I was talking. This was my first time going to this restaurant on valentines day and we will never go back. With the amount of money we spent just for two people you would think that we would have been treated kindly. Not one apology from the hostess. We wasted our money and our time.
The food and ambiance were really good but, the service fell very short. We were sat but waited almost 10 mins before even being greeted and getting water. That was forgivable because the ambiance was nice and they may have been busy. The seafood pastas we had we're very good and the waiters were nice and attentive. What ruined the evening was Nicole, who I presume was the manager. Instead of the check she brought a handheld credit card machine with a digital copy of the check. She asked where we were from and in the middle of my girlfriend's reply she interrupted to say she forgot to add a 2nd glass of wine and then walked away to add it as we waited some more. It was very rude. It was awkward to have to figure out the tip while she hovered over me. It ruined the entire ambiance of a nice evening. I feel bad because the waiters and cook did a nice job but, I wouldn't go back.
This place is great for a romantic date. It's a little on the pricey side, but is well worth the money.
The food was delicious....authentic Italian, Gussepii cooked up some great dishes. Definitely gonna be going back.
Small quaint restaurant. Service was great. I noticed that they did not have salt and pepper and thought they must be very confident that you will not want them. They did not disappoint, the chicken limone was excellent. Looking forward to diving here again.
Great food and not priced at allGiuseppe and Nicole are perfect hosts
